alainneedle1
Beside Australia here is one of my favrorite place to fly, this is a small Hawaiian island, the landscape was formed by a volcano and is beautiful, I hope you will enjoy it cause there is a lot of pictures. Just showing what DX10 can do with FSX this is not a frame rate contest. http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:///>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_9-26-20-718.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_9-27-29-231.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_9-44-26-395.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_9-48-45-348.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_9-49-42-562.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_9-50-38-777.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_9-51-42-190.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_9-55-28-62.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_9-55-48-243.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_9-56-29-42.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_9-57-0-639.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_9-57-14-422.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_9-58-45-117.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_10-1-22-327.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_10-3-15-503.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_10-0-19-829.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_10-0-32-862.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_10-1-53-825.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_10-4-34-16.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_10-7-24-924.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_10-8-33-620.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_10-7-10-446.jpg Time for landing........./>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_10-4-45-433.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_10-8-56-869.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_10-9-10-302.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_10-9-50-466.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_10-10-5-732.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_10-10-13-65.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_10-17-16-310.jpg/>http://http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/alainneedle1/2009-2-21_10-15-50-847.jpg

John York
Hi Alain Your above shots are, as usual, excellent. I too have Hawaii and it is, as you've amply, very amply, shown very beautiful. However, I am still unable to see the advantages of DX10 that these pictures were supposed to demonstrate. I'll allow that perhaps frame rates are slightly better, but with a powerful enough machine, who needs better frame rates? As for the pictures, yes, they're excellent as I've said, but I've seen just as good shots posted by Iain Emms, Aussie Cop, Maxter and several others and to the best of my knowledge, they are using the bog standard DX9. Considering the really quite bad shimmer that using the DX10 demo creates, for my machine anyway, why would I want to use DX10 rather than stick with DX9? John I John, you'r right about other people shots, they are excelent, I was not saying mine were the best, I think the best advantage for me using DX10 is frame rate as you can see in some of my last screenshots, my landing is between 60 and 73 FPS, now that's a smooth landing like in a real plane, when I was using DX9 the landing was fluctuating between 5 and 18 FPS sometimes so it was like a slide show with a lot of stuttering, the other big advantage for me is water, it is a LOT better with DX10. Keep in mind my shots are not adited either, V key only, the shots can be a lot better if edited. As of the shimmering on DX10 it's not that bad with my PC, do I get some ...yes but for me it's a small trade off for a huge gain in FPS resulting in a very smooth flight. Thank you for your comment......
John York
I see Alain. My shimmer with DX10 is really, really bad. However, as my frame rates never drop below 10 anywhere, and with Vista 64x 10 is reasonably pretty smooth, I think I might as well stay as I am for the time being. Thanks for the info.
