Sumburgh "mirrored" houses

As fltsimguy said, this is a common occurrence when you are flying ultra low level. I suspect its how FSX applies textures to autogen buildings,and cant be influenced by the developer.

When texture plates "files" are made up for texturing objects, the textures for things that contain signs or wording, they must be placed upside down and reversed to that they show up the right side up and correctly oriented, its just how the texture calls work.  However if they are also applied to reverse sides of the object, they will end up being backwards unless you make another section of that plate with the texture in the opposite direction.  One side can be displayed correctly and the other backwards, its just a great big pain in the butt to have to make up texture files containing the textures correctly for all sides of an object when wording is involved.


 


Perhaps that is not too clear.  Suffice to say its a technical issue with how textures are placed into texture files and how they are called to "paint" or texture the exterior of an object.
