TBel Posted April 30, 2014 Share Posted April 30, 2014 I was in the process of doing a fresh install and was adding my ORBX sceneries, Everything seemed great. Then I installed EU ENG and I had an extra FTX Global icon, but no visible problems. After installing EU EGHI I have an Oceania icon. I also have Custom Files Validation Report that pops up when I start FTX Central stating Custom file does not exist. I'm sure its referencing Oceania since I hadn't purchased that region. It seems to be working fine, but I'm not digging that report popping up or the Oceania icon. Any ideas on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. That should remove the Oceania icon and get things back in sync with your installation. If the problem still persists, please copy the error message here. Alex Goff Posted May 1, 2014 Share Posted May 1, 2014 That message usually comes up when FSX Service Pack 2 is missing from the installation. If you aren't using acceleration, you can download the service pack from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8986 If you are using Acceleration, SP2 should be installed but you may want to run a repair install and then reinstall Global. Holy Cheese Posted May 1, 2014 Share Posted May 1, 2014 Ted, if as your signature above says you have FTX Global installed, then there no longer is a default icon in FTX Central - this is replaced by the FTX Global icon (which is now your default). What you need to do is apply FTX Global and untick the boxes for Use ORBX trees, Hybrid mode and Vector lights - this in effect gives you the "old" default setup. The first time I tried installing their sceneries it spoiled my FSX install and forced me to do a reformat, so I'll be crossing my fingers and toes this time. Will keep my fingers crossed for you too, hope it all works out! TBel Posted May 5, 2014 Author Share Posted May 5, 2014 This gets stranger by the minute. I installed Central Rockies and KJAC. Now the Default icon has returned along with another FTX Global icon. Alex Goff Posted May 5, 2014 Share Posted May 5, 2014 Hi Ted, Reinstall the latest libraries, some of the older products still contain outdated versions of FTX Central and need to have the libraries installed afterwards.
