kriggelb
Hello ORBX-team, first of all: thank you for developing such a great addon as FTX Global for FSX! I already searched the forum and found some "flush scenery indixes"-posts, but I still don't quite get it: I also hit the button before reading the manual (sorry) and I don't know if I messed up things now. Is it right that there is no difference between "flushing scenery indixes" and pressing the OK button within FSX' scenery library? Is there a need to reinstall something? Thanks a lot and kind regards from Germany, kriggelb Order # FSS0274761
Jack the Swede in Spain
Flushing the sceneery indexes just removes the index file and forces FSX/P3D (on restart) to rebuild the index file. NO harm at all.
kriggelb
That's great news! Thanks JJJackson ..."only do this when advised by support" sounds quite serious, though:-)
Holger Sandmann
Hi there, nothing to worry about indeed. In FS9 it was quite common that issues with the scenery library menu showed up that could then be resolved by removing those .dat files, forcing the sim to rebuild them on restart. FSX seems to be much better at maintaining a clean scenery.cfg but it's still a good option to have for "deep" debugging. In any case it's a perfectly safe procedure. Cheers, Holger
kriggelb
"Perfectly safe" sounds perfectly great! Thanks a lot for the answers - as I already started FSX after flushing everything should be fine by now. Kind regards, Chris
