Dooga
Hi all, tonight I did the first training flight for my real-life VFR night (NVFR) rating (goal is to be allowed to fly VFR after Sunset, which effectively is a kind of IFR extra light as far as procedures go). One of my private little goals for that flight was of course to see how well ORBX night textures and lighting depict the real world - and I was pleasantly surprised that especially where built up areas are concerned (lights, roads, buildings), it is spot on! The overall feel is captured extremely well. For non-built up areas, FSX is way too bright; to be fair IRL there's no snow here, compared to generic FSX winter, and its generally a dark night outside today, but even so FSX is brighter than reality.
