Installation Order

Recommended Posts

Good Afternoon,

I reformatted my PC and I am doing a clean install of P3D V2 and I am curious what order I should install the Orbx Products I own to capture the best results.

I own:

PNW

England

Ireland

Global

Thanks for the help!

Hi Matthew,

Here's a quick guide on installation order:

http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/31552-installation-instructions-for-orbx-regions/

It doesn't include more recent products so an abridged install guide would be:

PNW + all available patches (a new installer is rolling out soon that will contain all previous patches)

England + all available patches

Ireland + all available patches

Global + all available patches

Then finally install the latest libraries available on the support page:

Regards,

Alex

Concerning HOLGERMESH, where does his priority go in FSX scenery?  does it go on top of all ORBX scenery or under?

Leave it where the installer places it to. Its just fine on top of all other Orbx-Entries.

My question is, if I have to switch to "Default" (FSX) or to a specific scenery (PNW) whenever I want to install the libraries?

What I understood so far (and missed in the Howto's):

Switch to Default: install scenery and library

Switch to Scenery: install patches and specific airports for that scenery

Am I right?

and if I started by FSX->FTX Global->FTX Vector, then is it ok to continue with the regions ?

Yes, it is, FTXG, Vector or 2010 FTX mesh can be installed at any moments.

You can install orbxlibs at any moments, it's not relevant how FTX central is set. To check which version of libs (or any other ORBX scenery) you have installed please use the tool inside FTX central Tool -> report Orbx product installed, so you can compare with the latest available orbxlibs and see if you have to upgrade.

Question on this topic...do I have to set FTX Central to Oceania when installing an Aussie Airport, then Global when installing anything else?  or can I leave Central in Global mode and install Aussie and American airports?
