John York
I'm not complaining you understand but having just purchased the airports and as I can't find it anywhere, can someone please tell me if the update for YMML has been issued yet, and if it has where I can find it please. Many thanks John
awright
Not out yet John. there is a thread saying not to expect miracles in relation to fps. Alex
John York
Yes, right. Thanks Alex. Having had Horizon's 3D London since it came out, I don't anticipate too much of a problem with Melbourne! Thanks for the warning though. Have a good year John
awright
In my view YMML is in a different league to Horizon's London good as it is. Alex
John York
Yes, you may be right. I was talking about your warning on frame rates though. I haven't had a chance to use it yet. Still downloading that pesky REX. Luckily, it can be interrupted and started again! All the vest John
hendrik
Hi JohnY - Happy New year to you and everyone! Just my pennyworth, but I've found Melbourne is a worse frame hitter than VFRLondon - I've experienced 5fps deteriorating to a literal slide show leading to FSX freezing. (Dual core 2.3 8800GTX). Would appreciate other's experiences and advice.... Hendrik
awright
If you use all the features and your system isn't top notch then it will be slow, just us the config tool and reduce features to a workable level. Alex
hendrik
Yup, could do that, but then when I have left the environs of Melbourne I would want to crank the details up again to my FTX default (which is most sliders to the right with the exception of autogen). Would sort of spoil the flight experience!

Would sort of spoil the flight experience! I think he is talking about using the YMML configuration tool, to turn features off to gain performance back. These features only relate to the airport and nothing beyond.

tom
Sounds good Marty - there's lots of us really hangin' out for SP1. It'll certainly make an excellent package just that little bit better still. Cheers mate.
