BOZ
I think these trees are supposed to be lights... they look like trees but light up at night.
Ryan Mason
Thanks Boz, Can I ask, are you using DX10 Preview mode?

Ryan Mason
Did you get any error messages after the first install and switch using the switcher? and did you set to default before installing global?
BOZ
Yes there was an error after the first switch... but I don't get that when switching now... maybe a FTX- day/night bug? Oh and yes I was on default during the install.
BOZ
Oops...I am getting it again... Access to restore.bat denied

BOZ
It's not all the trees though... it seems like they are scattered. Did this addon add trees?
BOZ
I ran across someone saying there was a third party fix for this I think but I can't find it anywhere.... Any ideas what that might have been? maybe I read it wrong..
Russ White
This is a known DX10 issue, but should only be an issue when DX10 preview mode is ON. You should not be seeing black lights with DX Preview mode OFF, can you confirm this? DX10 Preview mode OFF means you are running FSX in DX9 which should be showing the lights correctly, i.e invisible during the day, glowing lights at night. Tim Harris
Access to restore.bat denied This indicates you have antivirus or some other security software preventing FTXcentral from operating properly, probably due to FSX being installed in the default location (Program-files folder has very high security) First thing to try is right-clicking the FTXcentral icon and selecting >> Properties >> Compatibility >> and ensure the tick-box in the Privilege Level section called "Run this program as an administrator" is ticked
BOZ
Well the admin fixed the error and the DX9 fixed the lights but I think I'll go back to DX10 anyway... Do you guys know about this DX10 fix? would it work for this issue? http://airdailyx.blogspot.com/2013/09/steves-dx10sceneryfixer-released.html
John Venema
Yes Stephen's DX10 Tool will fix the shader bug in DX10 mode, that is the recommended solution.
BOZ
Thanks for the help guys. Sorry about the fake out on the first try at DX9. It seems that settings changes made from the drop downs during flight do not stay when I restart MSFS. I always need to exit the flight and use the main settings dialogue to get those things to stick for some reason. Thanks again, Dave
