VH-KDK
It is only a short hop from the ORBX airports of Popham to Southampton. 1. After taking off from 03 we head south over the Popham airfield and the A303. 2. Southampton Airport is easy to find as all we have to do is follow the M3 motorway. The old A33 runs beside the new motorway and the 10 miles from Winchester to Popham was once the most dangerous section of single carriageway "A" road in the UK despite it being nearly straight. 3. Passing the River Itchen, one of the best trout streams in England. Kings Worthy is above the Technam. 4. The historical town of Winchester and over the suburb of Winnall 5. Leaving WInchester in the distance, Compton is bottom left and Twyford bottom right. The M3 has also replaced the old A31 Winchester-by-pass, again another horrendously dangerous road in its day. 6. Chandlers Ford is to the right and now Southampton International is in sight. 7. A little to high so we will do an orbit over Colden Common. 8. Descending over the B3335 at Highbridge. 9. Passing Eastleigh East Railway Yard. 10. Over the railway works on short finals. 11. 12. A couple of shots showing some more detail at Southampton. As usual all shots are just slightly cropped.
