Bugdani
Just t/o Wendover in the boundary of Uyah and Nevada, I see a very great difference of colour in theses desert textures: north and south accross USA: Is it normal? the landscape doesn't look real at all and be worth than default! Alex Goff
Are you using any landclass for that area? Does it appear that way when not in top down view as well?
Bugdani
Yes, I've tried UTX USA and Scenry Tech. NA.: same result.
Holger Sandmann
Hi Bug, what you're seeing is the boundary between two FSX Regions. FSX is divided into 26 Regions as shown in the attached screenshot. The idea is similar to what we do in our Orbx region products in that each region can have different landclass ground and autogen textures. It's only partially implemented though, which is why there are quite a number of issues with it. In your screenshot the North America North ( B ) Region meets the North America Southwest ( C ) Region. The latter is meant to represent the reddish sandstone areas of the Colorado Plateau. In my screenshot it's that orange blob in the NW quadrant. Unfortunately, the boundaries between FSX Regions have no "feathering", which is why there is that sudden change in texture color. A combination of custom landclass and region files allows to model more realistic transitions while landclass files alone, as you've discovered, won't do the trick. Cheers, Holger
fltsimguy
It almost like this should be pinned. I had never given any thought to how the regions have a boundary that would/could show up with such stark line definitions.
