trans_1007
I have a question of theory. Im buying a new 300 gig hd and want that to be a dedicated FSX drive. I only have a single hard disk listed as C drive. So could I add the new HD and list it as D drive and transfer FSX from C to D and will I encounter any problems. Thanks
Wolter van der Spoel
Tim, should not be a great deal, one thing you need to be aware of is that you adapt your registry entries as well, get a tooly to do so here Aslo bear in mind that shortcuts need to be adapted as well ! you can manually edit them
trans_1007
Should i Expect any problems in transfering AU Green.
Wolter van der Spoel
if you completely move your main FSx folder lock stock and barrel it should be fine, as said you need to correct your registry entry for fsX and also renew your shortcuts. IF you have UT and other programs then you individually have to restore all the links for them as well or re-install everything on the new drive, and do a bit of Autum cleaning ........ tennyson
I hope that 300 gb drive is cheap. 1Tb drives are under 150 bucks now if you hunt around, Frank

John York
Yes, good luck with that. It certainly makes a difference having the flying/scenery drive/s away from the 'C'. John
trans_1007
All FSX transfer to E drive complete. No errors or CTD's and stable on Au Green and OzX. Gained stronger fluid motion and scenery blurries are near gone and crisp. Load speeds are way better and overall FSX seems even stronger being on its own drive.
