waynelp
1959, January, Rome Italy - New York, I was 8 yrs old and boarded a TWA Connie. We went from Rome to New York. It was winter and a very cold storm had dumped a lot of snow and ice on La Guardia where we landed. We also flew into the storm enroute over the Atlantic, which there upon I got very airsick. After we landed the cargo doors were so frozen shut they could not unload our baggage in a reasonable time for us to get it. Then onto the train to Mass. Still in the same clothes I wore on the flight. Included is a picture of the timetable for the flight we were on; #981, the plain star under the flight number denotes a super constellation aircraft, the circled star is a Jetstream, I believe we only made on stop in Paris enroute to the USA. timetable from timetableimages.com
