anthony31
As Paul says, last event, be great to see a HUUGGEE squadron of Tigermoths. Let's try make the Launceston ATC have a nervous breakdown

squeeker
Yep, and make sure to install the OZx scenery if when you fly this one. Might stop in for a circuit at Mark Lee's Cradle Mountain strip on the way to Launie!
grumman
At least it's easier to find now that the snow has melted. I could never manage to find it in winter Greg

pphibbs
Don't miss your last opportunity to fly in this GREAT event. Tonight at 8:00pm/10:00z and again on Sunday at 3:00pm/5:00z. Note the Sunday event won't have any ATC. Regards, Paul Phibbs VFR Events Manager VATPAC
Agade
Anyone who didn't make Today should definitely try for Sunday ... this was a hell of a lot of fun. There were some beautiful hills ... Some gorgeous flats ... And a delightfully busy OrbX Freeware Airport In fact; it's the most fun I've ever had with a squadron of Giant Paper Planes! grumman
You're not using Squawkbox by any chance. It seems to have a very limited aircraft database. In FSInn they all looked as they should, i.e. DH82s. I agree it was a great flight over that magnificent Tassie Orbx scenery, with 12 group aircraft coming into Launceston as well as a few kero burners. Agade
Squarkbox v4 beta, there are reports of issues with the ATC package I use offline at one of the components of FSInn, so I've kept away from it thus far. It might be worth a go to get Aircraft looking as they should .
anthony31
I WON!!! at least I was first there (makes a change from the usual tail gunner position). I wonder how that guy flying the CRJ700 from Launceston to Queenstown managed to land? I run SB too (FSINN has a better range but SB just runs better on my system, at least users have a choice of FSINN or SB) and hated the giant paper planes so I changed the model. Want to do it yourself? Open your FS9\aircraft\squawkbox folder Open the model.c172 folder and copy the file cessna172sp.mdl Go back to the squawkbox folder and open the model.qmark folder Paste the cessna172sp.mdl file into this folder Rename qmark.mdl to qmark.mdl.original Rename cessna172sp.mdl (the file you just pasted) to qmark.mdl All I've done here is replace the qmark aircraft model with the SB Cessna 172 model. Not perfect but a lot better than the big ugly paper plane. You could of course use any model you like but remember, the more complex the model the more frames it's going to eat. Agade
Thank you Anthony, that's proper fixed it - much more pleasing than the paper planes
