tim_A
I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is an aeroplane and a VOR to steer her by, Rudder and Stick and the wind's song and the white wings shaking, And a grey mist on the sea's face and an ILS awaiting. I love Google Maps sometimes! Just to the right of the red Danger Area, you can clearly(!) see written on the map "Name Not Clear"! [img width=1160 height=361]http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/6479/ta1127.jpg We pick up this leg as we pass over Lake Glenbawn, shortly after take off. [img width=1160 height=361]http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/6830/ta1131.jpg This is Barrington Tops National Park. It is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia, and World heritage listed. [img width=1160 height=361]http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/3007/ta1141.jpg It's also been known as "The Devil's Triangle", from the large number of aircraft that have crashed here over the years. [img width=1160 height=361]http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/4711/ta1149.jpg Fortunately we didn't crash, and eventually reach the coast. [img width=1160 height=361]http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/9306/ta1153.jpg That's the cross-runway on the nose. We will be landing right to left. [img width=1160 height=361]http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/5347/ta1157.jpg Wallis Island, and the town of Forster beyond. The smaller twin town of Tuncurry is to the left of the inlet (next pic) [img width=1160 height=361]http://img814.imageshack.us/img814/8185/ta1159.jpg The Forster Keys are a haven for wildlife and water sports. [img width=1160 height=361]http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/8522/ta1162.jpg Regatta Island at left, is a nature reserve. [img width=1160 height=361]http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/6074/ta1166.jpg [img width=1160 height=361]http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/6862/ta1168.jpg [img width=1160 height=361]http://img808.imageshack.us/img808/3786/ta1172.jpg [img width=1160 height=361]http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/7825/ta1174.jpg [img width=1160 height=361]http://img693.imageshack.us/img693/3267/ta1176.jpg [img width=1160 height=361]http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/4546/ta1182.jpg [img width=1160 height=361]http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/8988/ta1185.jpg And so we're parked up near the long grass. If you want to find it, Forster is about halfway between Cessnock and Port Macquarie. More soon...

tim_A
Thanks chaps - glad you liked it. I have a really good poke around in the next flight. This is a superbly done photoreal area, and the water textures in particular just have to be seen to be believed. Didn't quite get as far as Seal Rocks though.
