Hank
Hi Everyone, Just read up that if I want to fly on-line using teamspeak, I should invest in a seperate soundcard so that I talk to the other members flying, using the onboard motherboard soundcard, and have the FSX sound going through speakers using a dedicated soundcard? Is this correct? Also does it matter what soundcard one uses? I'm using Windows7 64 bit OS. Cheers Hank
TenBlade
Can´t say if a dedicated sound card is necessary, but beware of Creative cards, their software is said to not work properly in Win 7. ASUS, Auzentech, HT Omega are some alternatives. Bjorn
Dean (PC Aviator)
Some soundcards will do what you are after, but many onboard chips will not. For best audio performance it is probably good to to have both onboard sound and a sound card as mentioned by tenblade, and his advice on Creative cards is good too, although this seems mostly true for the older chipsets. Auzentech make a good sound card line.
Jack the Swede in Spain
Hank A much better solution is to invest in a USB Headset, then you can have all sounds thorugh the speakes and conversation in the Headset. I use my onboard soundcard and a pair of Audio FX Pro headsets and they work just fine. There are lots of good headsets on the market but be sure they can be connected vis USB.
