Hot spikes

since installing new Motherboard and CPU I have been monitoring temps, I have noticed it soike to 100 degrees for a fraction of a second, not sure if it was doing this before....I am liquid cooled, clean out dust regularly and have a bunch of fans....

I am wondering if it might be worth redoing the thermal paste?....

Idling now at 35-37....

This new CPU has base of 3.5ghz but has a built in Turbo speed of 5.4Ghz, it's not like the old ones where you had to turn it on via the BIOS so maybe that's the reason, also I think I read that INTEL were releasing something for 13th & 14th gen CPU's because they recognized a heat issue, can't find it now though....

Any suggestions?....were not losing any performance in sim or CTD's...

Hello Wayne,
a friend of mine has an i9 14900K which does the same as yours but averages out at 65 degrees or so.
We use HwInfo, which is an invaluable tool for seeing what's going on inside a PC.

Thanks for that Nick, I too use HW to monitor, nice to hear it's not just my system....
