TigerTigerM
The final pair of airstrips from Ken's PNG #2 set. AYGH is an interesting one, the elevation per online databases is given as 3', yet the pics of AYGH per the set below show an airstrip way higher than that. So, bit of a head scratcher. AYGH (Guhu)- 1,969' long & elevation of 3'?? Not sure if the Spartan aircraft could get out of here. Going by the surrounding topography, AYGH looks to be higher than 3' ASL. Compared to some other PNG airfields, AYGH appears to be relatively flat. Cluster of buildings at the top end of AYGH. AYNH (Nahu) - 1,368' long, at an elevation of 7,016'. View from the cockpit at AYNH. Even though it is located at 7,000', there are still mountain tops around it. AYNH village. Wider perspective of AYNH village. The keen eyed will note 4 lunches being cooked. An interesting thing about AYNH is that there is a house right at the end of the runway. (Far right of the pic) AYNH: Another unusual tower structure, almost pagoda like in its architecture. Ken??
