Nunner
Hi guys Not sure if you can help? I am running FSX. On a few of the smaller airfields I have noticed that there are start points but no runways, ie NZWT Whitianga. Using Ade as I have always done I placed an actual runway and a couple of taxiways and parking spots to get my AI aircraft working. Cutting a long story short when I then go to FSX I have either huge sunken trenches or elevated trenches. What can I do, if anything to alleviate this ? Thanks very much
Nick Cooper
Hello, most of the runways that you refer to are not flat. All FSX runways are flat, so when you add one, it will cut through or raise up all the elevations that do not match its flat path. FSX AI cannot operate unless the runway is flat. In order to resolve this, a sloping flatten that blends into the surrounding terrain would need to be created. This is very time consuming and unlikely to be worth the trouble. Nunner
Thanks Nick, interesting because the runway wasnt the issue rather the taxiway link off the runway that caused the slump. I will continue to play around but not for too long but thanks for the reply. Cheers
Nick Cooper
Hello, the most likely explanation is that you need to create a flatten under the runway and taxiways, so that the ground underneath them is flat too.
