Orbx or P3Dv5 problem?

Recommended Posts

So I set up P4Dv5 on my new build rig to it's own SSD, downloaded a plethora of Orbx additions which live on a separate SSD, and ran into more problems than I've had for ages.

Synced my Orbx areas via the CP, doubled checked all my drivers (WIN10) and no luck.

Uninstalled P3Dv5 again, ran he same routine and same as before: aircraft, be they default or add-ons float several metres above or below the surface, as do static aircraft and airport vehicles, complete with some very strange surface textures.

The attached screens illustrate this unfortunate mess.

Now P3Dv5 is running an i9 9960X at 4.4G, on a ROG Rampage VI Extreme Encore MoBo, a pair of Turbo GeForce RTX 2070 cards in SLI, with 128MG of RAM, all on a 4TB SSD with the Orbx Libraries on a separate 2TB SSD.

MSFS looks like a better option!

This has got me baffled and I really need advice.

Hello,

does this happen at default airports as well?

Does P3D v5 work as it should with all your addons disabled?

If so and if you have no other developers' addons, please visit

the Orbx Central Insertion Point page and set the insertion point

as suggested on that page.

You appear to have other problem, the runway edge lights are not

so tall and those multicoloured boxes are not there either.

Thanks for the reply Nick.

Default F35 and P38 at Elgin hover above the runway.

Run through all the insertion points as per the manual, validated files and all the other suggestions but no luck.

Really concerning is when switching from cockpit view to external view the aircraft turns into a black 'Lego' block!

Almost completely convinced this is either a W10 or P3D problem or even a combination of both.

Bugger!

Time to bite the bullet and start over.

Thanks once again.
