pphibbs
John, I am the VFR Event Manager for VATPAC and have been running successfully supported VFR events around Australia over the past four years. We have gone through the excitement of VOZ and with FTX the experience is fantastic and many of the VFR pilots are beginning to realise that they WANT FTX for a realistic experience. The currently running events are: + Operations in an around controlled airspace + Tassie Tigers Currently the events are posted in the following forums: http://www.vatpac.org http://virtualVFR.com There are two events a week held on Friday night and Sunday afternoon. Are you happy for me to advertise these events on this site? I imagine there would be many of your members that would enjoy them and the opportunity to fly on-line with real ATC (where applicable) and make new friends and learn so much more about their hobbie. Here is a link to some shots taken from the current Tassie Tiger leg (Devonport to Launceston). http://virtualvfr.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1209384736 If pilots are concerned about flying on-line with ATC, I can provide educational courses that I have prepared to ease them into the process. There are always many pilots and ATC that are very supportive of new comers. Pilots are issued with InfoKits and NavKits for each flight, to provide them with all the information they need to participate in the event. I hope my events will bring many hours of enjoyment to your member base, utilising your magnificent scenery.
