How to correctly inactivate duplicate afcads

Recommended Posts

I have purchased Orbx TrueEarth Washington and I am trying to disable the Boeing Field afcad because I have Drzewiecki Design Seattle Airports already installed. When I rename the afcad with an .OFF suffix, I cannot tell if the file is truly inactivated or not. It is still showing as a BGL file recognized by Airport Design Editor. I have already inactivated the KBFI that comes with PNW, so I am not sure why I still have default buildings popping up over Boeing Field.

Hello,

to disable a bgl file, the extension must be renamed so that is is no longer recognised as a bgl file.

Changing the file name has no effect.

Unless you go to your Windows File Explorer settings and disable "Hide extensions for known file types",

you will not be seeing the file extension and therefore you are only editing the file name.

What you have created is in fact FTX_WA_objects_KBFI_PLC.BGL.OFF.BGL because you cannot see the final ".BGL",

as it is being hidden by your Windows File Explorer setting.
