flying pianist Posted May 20, 2020 Share Posted May 20, 2020 I have installed the newly purchased Dundee Airport into X-plane, using the main X-plane folder as location. True Earth Great Britain North is the updated V1.1.0. The scenery throws up two error messages about files from a scenery package being either absent or not up to date. Log.txt shows a raft of other issues as well, and I attach the file. I have uninstalled and reinstalled this package, but the error remains. Any thoughts please? flying pianist Posted May 20, 2020 Author Share Posted May 20, 2020 Replying to my own post - all now OK. The problem was with the updating of the Orbx libraries. They seemed be up to date, and said that they were, but various elements had been blocked in the automatic process of updating by my anti-virus program. Re-installing the Orbx libraries while being at the keyboard to over-ride the anti-virus error messages was all that was needed to make them all work again. Apologies for troubling the forum with this - but an object lesson that it is worth checking and re-checking the update process if issues arise. The Dundee airport scenery is great. I purchased and downloaded Dundee HD scenery this morning but Xplane 11 only displays the default airfield scenery. i have GB North downloaded as well. Any thoughts? cbcdesign Posted May 21, 2020 Share Posted May 21, 2020 If I were you I would un-install Dundee then uninstall the trial XP or delete the files that are no longer required if its already been uninstalled then re-install Dundee into the correct steam version. Any advice ? Regards Ian I can only echo @cbcdesign suggestion. You certainly should only have one valid scenery_packs.ini although there will also be an Orbx backup copy. I also strongly recommend you don't have XP on yoru C drive if you have another larger drive. You will be heading for lack of free space very quickly and be unable to download and install some True Earth addons. Your C drive also contains your Temp folder so it will fill with the download extraction and installation pretty quickly. Also note that Dundee is made for use with TEGB North although it will work in default scenery there may be some visual anomalies.
