Timmy74
Hello Gentlemen, I am about to do a FULL re-install of everything due to a OS hard drive crash and was wondering if there is a "step-by-step" installation guide here at Orbx? Its been a while since I have had to do this. I ask this because I am not sure if I need to install my Pilots Version of Global Mesh or is it part of Orbx installs now...and many other questions? Any help for a full install would be greatful. Cheers, Tim.
Nick Cooper
Hello, where did you have your Orbx scenery installed, on the C drive?

Nick Cooper
You should then be able to integrate it back into your simulator.

So when I reinstall P3D -some files will be on the C: drive OS and then I will set up the main P3D file on the E:drive- do I just drag and drop all of the saved files from the saved E:drive over to the new P3D file on the E:drive? Nick Cooper
Hello, how exactly are your Orbx files structured? Is this an Orbx Central Library, or something else?
Timmy74
I had is set us as E:\P3Dv4\Orbx\Ai Traffic...Config...FTX_AU...etc.
Timmy74
Orbx central installed it as I typed in above. in the main P3D root folder on the E:drive.
Nick Cooper
Thanks, is that a full installation of P3D v4?
Timmy74
It was a full instillation of P3Dv4.
Nick Cooper
You should be able to install P3D v4 again into the same folder. Once you have done that, take these steps and in this order. Global Base must be uninstalled and installed again. You must run Verify files for all open LC products. You must run verify files for the Orbx Libraries. For good measure, also run Sync Simulator. To find Sync Simulator, Click Settings -> Help -> Sync Simulator.
Timmy74
Okay I will give it a go. Thanks Nick On a side note.... I still have on my C: drive... Some files for "Lockheed Martin" under "Documents", Program Data and "Users/Tim/AppData/Roaming-Local"? Will these be overwritten when I re-install P3D? Is it safe to leave them there during re-install?
Nick Cooper
How did you manage that if you did a "FULL re-install of everything due to a OS hard drive crash".
Timmy74
I have not attempted a full re-install yet. I was waiting for your instructions....
Nick Cooper
How did you fix your "OS crash"? You may not need to do anything to P3D at all.
Timmy74
Sorry.... I think I know what you mean. There was some stuff still on the crashed C:drive and it was saved to anther drive and placed back on when the new C:drive was installed.
Nick Cooper
In that case, I would leave it all in place, reinstall P3D into the same folder as it is now and then do what I suggested in post 13.
Timmy74
Okay I will go ahead. Thank you again Nick.
Timmy74
Hello Nick. Where are the default Orbx library's located!? I am not sure where to set them up when FTX Central is asking where to put them? A little confused!?
Nick Cooper
I imagine that you are using Orbx Central and not FTX Central. To start with you should not need another Orbx Central Library until you need to install objectflow. Then go to Settings\Help\User Guide and scroll down to the section on Libraries.
