brandoncent0981
Greetings! Yesterday, foolishly, I installed P3D to my D: drive, an HDD. Everything went well, but it was slow. I did a proper uninstall, and migrated (as in, fresh installed) everything to my SSD. However, I notice that Orbx wants to install things to the old pathway (D:\P3D\...) when it should now be the C: drive. To bypass this I chose to install to a library on my SSD using the library option, but P3D does not recognize this library. I'm sure that the reason is because it's expecting the old pathway to be valid. Synchronize does not work, because it points to the wrong path. Why is there no manual option for pointing Orbx Central to the proper area?
brandoncent0981
I can see in the logs that it "sees" P3D in my D: drive but this is not the case. I really can't figure out how to point it to my P3D directory.
Nick Cooper
Hello, it seems that the P3D registry entry has not changed. You could try reinstalling just the client.

brandoncent0981
The registry entries in RegEdit for P3D are updated/correct. Would a reinstall of Orbx Central help?
Nick Cooper
Yes, go to your Windows control panel and uninstall the P3D client. When you are asked if you want to deregister P3D, answer NO. Then install it again, using Install_Client.msi from your download.

brandoncent0981
Is there seriously not a manual way to point the downloader to where things need to install? This seems incomprehensible.
Nick Cooper
Hello, as I tried to explain, the "downloader" looks at the registry and if it finds the entry, it installs to the location stored there, provided that there is a copy of Prepar3D.exe in that folder. If the registry entry is pointing to a location that does not contain Prepar3D.exe, Orbx Central does not see P3D at all. Have you checked to see whether there is still a version of P3D on your D drive? Using the Windows Registry Editor, you can check the registry entry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\AppPath
brandoncent0981
Is there something I can do to fix this? I did the above.. It STILL thinks it's located at D:\P3Dv5\.. which is NOT the case. Argh! This is more frustrating than anything I've ever dealt wrt Flight Sim. I can't figure this out.

brandoncent0981
Like I can't for the LIFE of me figure out why it's pointed that way. There it is, plain as day, that in the registry it is set in my C:\ drive. What could possibly be pointing it the wrong way? I uninstalled/reinstalled the client. I uninstalled/reinstalled Orbx Central. I'm at my wits end, this is ridiculous.
Nick Cooper
Is there anything left on your D drive?
brandoncent0981
No, aside from my backup directory.
Nick Cooper
You can try reinstalling Orbx Central. Uninstall it using the Windows control panel and also delete C:\Users\your name\AppData\Roaming\Orbx, the Orbx folder from your tmp folder and C:\Users\your name\AppData\Local\Orbx-central-updater. Then reinstall and see if it finds the installation on your C drive.
brandoncent0981
It recognizes my sim (v5) but it's pointed in the complete wrong directory. I have literally no guess as to why.
Nick Cooper
Is there anything of your original installation still in the original location?

I am trying the recommendation above right now. But I don't think so. I deleted generated files, uninstalled, then deleted the whole P3Dv5 folder from D drive. But let me try the above first.
