A few years back I worked on a contract with biologists based in Tofino who had attached radio emitters on marbled murrelets (an endangered seabird) to track their movements. I was the GPS guy and we used an R44 chopper to follow them, which is not an easy task given the rocket speed these little birds can fly at. It was fun though to zig zag all across Clayoquot Sound!
