The Merowinger
hello, flying over Vancouver with your new PNW-scenery I saw these roads-pattern in the town. First I thought of UT-Canada but deactivating the whole UT-Canada didn't change anything. So what could this be or has this to be in that way? with regards Kai
Holger Sandmann
Hello Kai, it's the same with any non-photoreal add-on where the "generic" roads that are part of the ground textures clash with the spatially correct vector road (and railroad) network layered on top. It's particularly obvious in areas where the true road grid doesn't follow the usual N/S-E/W orientation like in downtown Vancouver. We've actually tried to minimise this issue by reducing overall vector road densities in urban areas, trying to make our road textures match the ground textures, and blending their edges but it's nothing we can completely eliminate. Having said that the upgrade version for Vancouver+ will have high-resolution photoreal coverage of downtown Vancouver and adjacent industrial areas, which will get rid of the issue there: http://jonpatch.wordpress.com/2010/02/21/van-v3-some-early-screenshots/ Cheers, Holger
