answered FTX PNW Blank screen

Hello.

Purchased  FTX NA PNW and the scenery looks very good. Couple of Q's for clarification. When loading some airports, KVUO an example, it loads, then I'm met with a blank screen,  I use Ctrl + Alt + Del , press Esc and it appears. Only this time no sound. retry and there's sound. My system is new, so I don't think there's problem there. Also Used FTX central to verify files, and all seems well with that. If it's normal, and I have to  wait, fine. Just need to know if it's normal or not.

your system is just taking its time to load.

If I use the full screen mode, mine does the same.

 

Once FSX is running, press Alt + Return and FSX will be in windowed mode.

If you close it in this mode, it will then open in windowed mode.

 

Then you will only see the black screen when you press Alt + Return again

if you prefer the full screen mode.

 

Most likely, you have set the full screen resolution in FSX to a non-native

level for your monitor.

Try it with the full screen resolution set to your monitor's native resolution.

That should reduce the length of the black screen display to a minimum.

 

Either way, this has nothing to do with whatever you have installed, Orbx or otherwise,

it is just the way that FSX works.

 

Personally, I use "Pseudo full screen" which does not blank my second monitor and the

transition to full screen windowed mode is instant.
