SimonLeung
I have just bought a couple of Australia airports but I found some of them like the YMML shows no static planes, no matter I enable or disable the static plane option in the control console. The other airport like the Brisbane Airport works fine with plenty of static planes. Please advise. Thanks. Simon
petfy
What flight simulator are you using and what (if any) air traffic program are you using?
SimonLeung
I’m running FSX SP2 on Windows 10. I’ve no air traffic programs.
petfy
In the FTX central product tools for YMML there is a "Verify Files" button. Run that to see if the problem is corrected.
SimonLeung
Yes, I have verified it but there is still no static plane. The only one I can see is the FSX default plane as shown in the picture. The airport is almost empty. Simon
Nick Cooper
Hello, have you installed the Orbx libraries?
SimonLeung
Yes. It shows up to date. I have just also verified the Obrx Library but there still exists no static plane.
Nick Cooper
Hello, I took a look at YMML and indeed there were no static aircraft. However, when I added 100% AI traffic there were dozens, mostly from the Orbx freeware AI. Perhaps this is how it's meant to be?
petfy
Nick is mostly right. With the exception of one single Qantas 737 in the maintenance area I can find no other static aircraft. The ones you see in the main screen shot are all UT2 (note no shadows underneath them). If I can remember correctly, YMML was produced when FTX was the major flight sim and back then YMML was considered resource intensive, so it stands to reason that there would be minimal static aircraft. SimonLeung
Oops... I can finally able to see the static planes after installing a freeware called "World of AI".
petfy
They are AI planes which land, taxi to gate, wait, taxi to runway, and takeoff. They make the airport come alive. Static planes are ones that just sit at a gate. Typically they have something extra associated with them such as they have more detail or have an animation.
