vonmar
Hello, I just purchased LOWI (P3Dv4.4). Very nice job. I did a test flight and noticed the LOC Rwy 26 is actually and ILS (with glide slope)? The charts also show LOC (only).
vonmar
I did some checking. I think the default airport ILS is used. But Orbx LOWI should have corrected it to a LOC only ?
vonmar
Possibly the developer could comment on the Orbx LOWI payware product?
John Dow
Does P3D model LOC? I imagine in most airport software only an ILS option is available. I'm sure someone with airport development experience will comment in due course.
vonmar
John, Thanks for the reply. I just started flying some European airports. The chart names are a bit different than USA. After looking at my new ORBX ESSA and LOWI and actually studying the charts for both I see what going on for the actual flight. It was my error. vonmar
Found some additional information on LOWI LOC RWY 26 with glide slope: https://questions.x-plane.com/196/what-is-wrong-with-the-ils-approaches-at-lowi "The LOWI LOC-DME from the East is offset 5 degrees from the runway heading and includes an "advisory" glideslope (hence it is not referred to as an "ILS")." I found some old charts (dated 2014, for flight sim use only) and there is no glide slope [LOC only] and they also have the old AB NDB (new charts have RUM NDB). aua668
Hi, If you are interested in details of LOWI, which is one of the most challenging airports due to weather situation (wind) and landscape (mountains, valley), have a look here: https://wiki.vacc-austria.org/index.php?title=LOWI_for_pilots Rgds Reinhard
