Dadtom65
Hi. Have just bought a new 2tb hard drive to install P3D. I did have it on my old D driveand worked ok. The drive has been setup properly and showing in Windows but P3D won’t start. Seemed to install ok but now after starting the shortcut it’s spinning and spinning now for nearly 20 minuets. Anybody any ideas. Thanks Derek.

Nick Cooper
Hello Derek, have you moved P3D to a new location? The most common reason for P3D to fail to start seems to be a faulty scenery.cfg file. Try renaming C:\programdata\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3Dv4\scenery.cfg and try again. Dadtom65
Hi Nick yes it was on my F drive. What like cfg. Old and let it create a new one. Ok will try that. Derek.
Dadtom65
Well watched a Poppet vid and she said to delete it, I did and no joy. Still not starting.
Nick Cooper
In that case, try running the "Delete generated files" file in the P3D folder. That will remove all the existing configurations and should let it start.
Dadtom65
Hi Nick. I’m just about had enough of Fltsims, thought the hell with it let’s install FSX-SE. Wish I hadn’t for a start Steam kept coming up with disc write errors as it has done before but a brand new drive, then of course that wouldn’t load. Right sorry but how do u run delete generated files please as have heard of this or doing some thing else with them. Thanks for your help Nick. Nick Cooper
Just find the file with that name in your P3D root folder, right click on it and select run as administrator.
