Doc_Z
I'm thinking about moving my ORBX folder from the P3d root folder that is on a 1TB SSD to a 2TB HD that is pretty empty. How much would this effect the load times? Also, if I move my FSCX2010 folder to that HD, what do I change so it will be found. Don't think I need a symbolic link in this case. Nick Cooper
Hello, the data will only load at the speed of the slowest drive. You would need a symbolic link to replace the ORBX folder in the simulator root folder. If you move your FSCX2010 folder to another drive, you would need only to change the drive letter in the paths recorded in the scenery library. As you say, you would not need a symbolic link. Doc_Z
Thanks, I guess the only way to find out is to make the move and test.
Nick Cooper
Yes, it's easily reversible if it doesn't suit you.
Doc_Z
If I had the cash, I'd replace that HD with an SSD. Not right now though. When England PR comes out I might, if PNW over comes out as PR, I will rob a bank if I have to.
Doc_Z
Nick, is using FSCX2010, where should it be placed in the Scenery Library? And does it make any difference with the ORBX areas? I have all of them.
Nick Cooper
Hello, It doesn't matter, but below ORBX!VECTOR_EXX is good. FTX Central won't move them from there.
Doc_Z
Thanks. Do I really need them in areas covered by FAT regions? Or Open LCs?
Nick Cooper
FAT, no. Open LC, yes, though Open LC SA has its own if you added it of course.
Doc_Z
Thanks. If I, say, add the North America mesh, it wouldn't do anything to PNW or such?
Nick Cooper
No, it will be fine.
