Ephedrin
Hi everyone, I also have a question regarding the installation of Netherlands True Earth: I have a Windows SSD with less than 200GB left. My P3D SSD has 153GB left. My general storage HDD still has plenty of space, around 1,2TB. So I could easily move my Temp folder to that HDD for the download of the installation files. No problem so far. But honestly, even the left over 76 (or something) GB on my P3D SSD would be quite a mouthful for an SSD. Given my 153GBs left of a 512GB SSD while ORBX alone uses 232GB (!!) another THAT big scenery would be too much for my plans. So the actual question is: I am aware that FTX Central will install the scenery into the ORBX folder in the P3D main folder. Is it possible to move the Netherlands scenery folder out of this ORBX folder onto my HDD and then simply activate it in the scenery library just as with almost every other scenery if required? Or will there be issues with files that are left over anywhere else or with FTX Central? Will NLD TrueEarth actually load properly from an HDD or will it take ages to load initially and then stutter to reload? Thank you Marc
Smudger
Hello Marc, in your position I would move all of my Orbx folder to your HDD, there may be a slightly longer loading time, but from then on it would as normal. Nick has put a post with a guide to using a System Link between your Sim and HDD Nicks Symbolic Link explanation.docx
