active FSX:SE API.DLL Error and Question?

I added North American to my list and download to my FSX:SE all went good however when opening the game it crashes right away saying API.DLL error. And yes I know what it means.

 

So my questions are!

 

What happen to the PDF guide regards the information on the FSX settings to use?  

To fix the API.DLL error all I did was removed the FSX.CFG file and made an new one! is that the best way going about it? without installing everything.

you can find the information on the FSX settings to use on page 12 of the user guide.

You can find the user guide by opening FTX Central, clicking on the product icon and

then the User Guide tab.
