YBBN Ground texture

Hi all,

When I choose No groundpoly in the options this is the result.

Is that how it should be? The Manual is a bit useless here as it tells nothing about the options available.

Thanks in advance

That is the grass texture in REX world wide airports. Disable the grass texture in their control panel.

There are also several posts about this on this board, generated when the software first came out.

Hello Henrik,

If you nolonger have the default Detail1.bmp in your \Scenery\World\Texture folder or have overwritten it with a Grass "Detail1.bmp",  you will find a suitable Detail1.bmp in  \ORBX\Scripts\Aero\Source folder, then within each of the folders in the \Source directory you will find Detail1.bmp for (Coarse, Cracked, Fine, Grass, Soft) Copy the one you need and like into your \Scenery\World\Texture  Or you can use FTX Aero in FTXCentral to select and apply the one you want, the grass one is not selectable in Aero. (Make a backup copy of your current Detail1.bmp if you wish to revert back to it later).
Generally speaking the Grass one is disturbing when not overlaying a grass surface (it looks like fiberglass matting), the general consensus with Orbx airfields and surrounding Global textures is to use either the Coarse or Cracked  Detail1.bmp as either will generally suit the best of both surfaces. (some users like fine or soft for best display of sand and snow). You can even select the Default.

As for the best sharpest Airfield ground, taxiway, and apron surface, & line marking at YBBN,  your system specs in your sig are very good, your system can cope with Ground Poly for YBBN,  using the "Ground Poly (Default)" or the "Ground Poly+Static Airliners" option in the YBBN Control Panel.
