psk2449
I note that various instructions list the file path of "Lockheed Martin\Prepar3Dv4" as appearing in " Program Files x (x86)". In my computer , they appear in "Program Files". Is this lightly to cause problems? Everything still seems to work excellently otherwise.
Nick Cooper
Hello, The default path is indeed Program files. This is the default Windows location for 64 bit software. The default Windows location for 32 bit software is program files (x86). Because there is a custom option for the P3D installation, it can be installed anywhere that the customer wishes and many seem to keep the file structure but change the drive, so ending up with say D:\program files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D\ or D:\program files (86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D\. It doesn't matter, except to introduce confusion occasionally during support attempts. Windows is very protective of both of its program files folders and advice is often given not to install there but instead to create a folder outside, such as C:\Prepar3D. It can be anywhere, Z:\Prepar3D would be just as good if you had a Z drive. If you are having no problems, of course the question is academic.
