skydivemayday
Hello, I recently upgraded from v3 (yes, I took my time I know) and I recall from the 3.x days that after each scenery install you should delete shaders, textures and the like to improve performance. Now I have not found it anywhere, and my searching does not find it either, but do we need to delete these same files and folders when we install a new piece of scenery in 4.x like we did in 3.x? Cheers
Nick Cooper
Hello, I must have missed the advice to delete shaders, textures and the like to improve performance. It seems counter-intuitive to delete files after installing them and I have never found it necessary. If you feel that it is necessary, please continue whatever it is that you are doing. skydivemayday
This is what I’m referring to here: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=120977 Ive seen similar advice a few times for v3 and I was just wondering if we still needed to do the same for v4. Nick Cooper
Hello, yes, I see but Elaine is answering a question about a problem. Unless you have the same problem, it is not necessary to do any of those things. The one screen shot shows that the product is correctly installed but that the simulator that it is in is very badly set up.
skydivemayday
Ok cool. I just remember v3 going pretty ordinarily every time a new scenery item was installed until we went through this process.
