I know that it can be done, or else how would the big sim developers create AC with advanced systems modeling? So to boil it down, is there a program I need to invest in? I know very little about customised FS aircraft systems (or even default ones), but I have never heard of a specific tool or program that does it all. Check out FS Developer for more ideas on what is required. There is a wealth of information there and you can always ask questions which may be answered by very experienced developers.
