Dane
Just purchased and installed Open LC North America. In the control panel it is defaulted to Road & Railway Skirting Enabled - what exactly does that do?
Nick Cooper
Hello, It adds a "background" to the roads and railways. It's very easy to enable and disable, so you might wish to try each option and see which you prefer.

What I really did notice was that Open LC NA adds 1 minute to the load time after pressing the Fly Now button, but FTX Global Base did not have any affect on load time. Wish there was a way to reduce that extra 1 minute of load time?! However I must say that they both make quite a lovely difference in visuals and neither seem to affect FPS. Nick Cooper
Hello, The more that is added, the longer it will take to load is a fairly reliable rule. Sorry.
Josh1850
Nick, Would like to compare same (skirting enabled / disabled). To do so, is it required to completely reload FSX to do the comparison - or can you minimize FSX, change the control setting accessed under FTX Central - and reopen FSX to compare ? Thanks,
Nick Cooper
Hello, You can switch them on and off by opening FTX Central and the OLC control panel and ticking or un-ticking the boxes. However, you do need to reload the scenery to see the change in a running copy of the simulator.
