Lyn
Order 3116 I was looking at a picture posted by tpollen in the Community Screenshots forum. When checking to find the same sheep, I noticed a significant difference in the ground texture detail. I have tried re tweaking my drivers in nHancer and in the Sim without success. This is very frustrating, can anyone me to correct this? This one is by tpollen This one is mine Thanks for any help, Lyn
Barry Meiklejohn
G'day Lyn, I think you'll find that TPollen is using an ATI video card. I have an NVidia card and my textures look like yours.
Holger Sandmann
Hi Lyn, actually, that looks like he's using PicNic, a grass texture add-on by Aimé Leclercq: http://www.simviation.com/fsxscenery10.htm It changes the semi-transparent "noise" bitmap that FSX blends with all ground textures as longs as the "Land detail textures" checkbox is active in the FSX Scenery menu. The downside is that there's only one noise texture that FSX places everywhere so your glaciers and deserts will end up with the same grass-like structure when you're close to the ground. Give it a try and let us know how you like it. Cheers, Holger
Lyn
Thanks Barry and Holger, I couldn't understand it because the rest of the the Sim looks magnificent. I am happy now, I don't like mysteries. Lyn.
Lyn
I have just tried PicNic and you were right Holger, if it was just grass it would be great. Being global for all ground textures, even the roads is a bit annoying, I won't be keeping it. Lyn.
Holger Sandmann
Hi Lyn, thanks for the feedback; its global reach is the same reason I didn't keep it installed either but I know that a lot of people like it and Aimé did a great job thinking outside "the box". Cheers, Holger
