Triplane
How long does it take to install "stuff" using FTXC3? All mileage is, of course, variable but here's my experience today. I just finished installing Global base, openLC NA, openLC EU, Trees, and all the ORBX Regions. Total time to download and install was 11 hours and 52 minutes (not a sterling performance but at least I now have backup files and won't have to do the downloads again). The process itself is marvelous. It's the picture of simplicity. I'm sure the download times will improve over time but, as of today, they are what they are. Now I gotta go install the airports..... elmucki
there are nodes throughout the network, once a product passes through those nodes, speeds improve for next downloads.

deepstar
Hi I downloaded manual zip 3 regions 9 GB in 3 hours. I have a 38 MB/s line. 3 hours is slow. The server was slow for 12 hours. I had to download these, so i just waited 3 hours. I live in Europe.
dominique
My experience with one region, two airports and the Libs is that it is irregular but leaning on the slow side. I've an extremely slow connexion which can be cut in half to a quarter of a meg/sec. Now with all the maniacs around here redownloading all their zips to be sure that if the world ends they'll still have their OrbX stuff, I guess that the servers are being hammered !
