Question about Phoenix area using NA OLC

Double J

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

that's actually a long-standing issue with some default FSX/P3D "public parks" landclass polygons in dry areas; see http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/62886-forest-in-phoenix-az-area/#comment-574464

Those forest polygons remain in place whether you have the openLC NA entries active or not; with Global Vector installed they have been removed, one of the reasons why the openLC NA product page lists Vector as "highly recommended".

I'll make openLC developer Eugene aware of this thread; perhaps it's possible to provide separate exclude files for the most obvious default "parks"; it won't be easy though because they all are of the same type of landclass polygon meaning a blanket exclude would also remove golf courses, wetlands, specific urban polygons, etc.

FYI, the top-right feature circled in the Double J's screenshot is Bartlett Lake reservoir meaning that one is correctly placed by the default water files -- openLC NA doesn't place or alter shorelines and waterbodies.

Cheers, Holger
