Tailgunner
After disabling a scenery area, I'm getting a "can't find scenery area 175" complaint every time I boot up. Scenery area files were easy to track and delete in FS9, but I can't trace them in FSX. Any clues?
Maurice_King
Exactly the same in the Scenery .cfg file look for the entry and then search the scenery subfolder in FSX for the offender and remove it
Tailgunner
Thanks, Maurice, but that doesn't work for me. My scenery.cfg contains 119 default area files and just one other, titled Addon Scenery - presumably also default. No subfolders, and no sign of any of my multiple scenery areas. I'm perfectly capable of missing something - but where on earth can they be?
tim_A
From memory, it's in C:\Documents & Settings\Microsoft\FSX. There are several copies of scenery.cfg in FSX, although only one is the "right" one. You might need to enable "Show hidden folders" in order to find it. Tailgunner
Thanks, Tim. I've tried both, but no luck.
Wolter van der Spoel
Hi TG, When the little pop up comes up it tells you area 175 is awol, it also should say wich scenery it is that you are missing please check that before hitting the ok thing again, then at least we would know what we are looking for
Holger Sandmann
Hi guys, actually, the active scenery.cfg file is in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX. Cheers, Holger
Tailgunner
Thanks, everyone. As always, Holger cracked it! So simple, so much wasted time trying to find it...
