chumley Posted May 8, 2016 Share Posted May 8, 2016 earlier this evening I attempted to load FSX with the result that the initial logon screen displayed then just before enabling the selection screen it moved to the bottom tight hand side of the extended screen (I have a triple Nvidia screen setup), partially loaded and became unresponsive. After Google search I came across a suggestion that I disable the current FSX.cfg and allow FSX to regenerate it. I followed this suggestion and FSX dutifully created a new version and loaded correctly. This prompted me to try to identify the line in the .cfg file that was causing the hang. The following line in the [Main] section is the one taht caused the issue: Location=5840,1042,6000,1080,\\.\DISPLAY1 (the one in the failing .cfg) Location=2480,130,3520,908,\\.\DISPLAY1 (the one regenerated by FSX). After this finding I went into the failing .cfg and removed the 'Location' line and everything loaded as expected. It also works with the regenerated 'location' line inserted. I would be interested if others using the Nvidia extended screen could check their FSX.cfg and let me know if this line appears. Must say I don't understand why it works without it when it was explicitly created from scratch. Also, if anyone has an alternative solution I am all ears.
