Bullfox
I was having a problem with white flashes in FSX about every two or three minutes so I did some reading on line about the problem. One suggested solution was to change water to 2x high. Sure enough, it fixed the problem. Does anybody know why this works? It obviously does something to the graphics but what? At the time I was flying south through Nevada and Arizona to Sedona so no water around. Nevertheless, FSX paused for about 5 seconds to do something and after that no white flashes. VAL067
Welcome to temperamental FSX...had this issue along with others ..after a few reinstalls and too many hours wasted in tweaking i ditched it for P3D. Never looked back. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Ziggy
Do you use the "BufferPools=0" tweak by chance?
Bullfox
Yes. I have BufferPools set to 0.
Ziggy
That explains why the white flashes then. It's a known side effect of using this tweak and setting the water slider to 2x high is the "fix" As for why it does this to the graphics, I'm not entirely sure https://kostasfsworld.wordpress.com/fsx-software-and-hardware-guide/
