resolved Porthkerry Viaduct missing at Barry, S. Wales

Hi,

I used to have FSX on windows 7,  if I had to reinstall FTX Wales at any time it was hit or miss whether the viaduct would show up! One day it vanished,just leaving the shadow of it (highlighted).  I reinstalled the software and it came back! Since then I have reinstalled everything onto a SSD.

Now, using windows 10 and reinstalling fsx , I have downloaded Wales using all the available mirrors just in case.I thought maybe some of the mirrors might have contained something corrupt  and that's why I tried them all, but no viaduct, just the shadow!  I've also updated the libraries to the latest ones. Would be interested to know why just the viaduct is missing. Looking forward to your replies

Hello and welcome to the forums.

Despite your screen shot, I have found the location of the viaduct.

 

Please go to ORBX\FTX_EU\FTX_EU_WLS_05_SCENERY\scenery

where you will see that there is a file named FTX_WLS_POIs_P3D.bgl.

 

I believe that this should not be there, so rename it to

FTX_WLS_POIs_P3D.bgl.off.

You should then see the viaduct and all the other POIs in Wales that will also

have been missing.

Hi sue, yeah it wasn't the best picture I've ever taken of fsx! In the process of rebuilding fsx after a major PC rebuild. Thanks for the prompt reply Nick cooper and I'll sort the viaduct problem (hopefully) on the weekend. Thanks again

viaduct(and other objects) back,thanks to your advice.

Blurries fixed, thanks to an up rated cfg file!
