Changing file from Off to BGL

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to get Graham's AI working in P3d Ver 3.1 by following his hand transfer method of the files shown in another ORBX forum for use in NA.

I have transferred all the required files to 3.1 but nothing is flying and I suspect it's because  "Traffic_FTX NA GA Traffic.bgl" was shown before transfer

as an "Off" file probably turned off by My Traffic when it was loaded. There is a "Traffic_ORBX_NRM_GA.bgl" also in the World scenery directory that shows correctly.

I have edited the file by re-naming it as shown but it refuses to show BGL under file "Type" instead of continuing to show "OFF".

Is there a solution for this .... I'm using Notepad to do the editing.

I think you are going about the renaming in the wrong way.

You should find the file in Windows File Explorer, right click on it

and select Rename from the menu.

You will see the main file name highlighted, click on that to

remove the highlight, highlight instead bgl and type in off.

Alternatively, you can place the cursor after bgl and type in .off

Click anywhere else on the screen and your file is renamed.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for your thoughts.  I tried it your way and didn't get any traction.

I've done these changes in the past and usually things work as designed ... but not on this one.

I'm wondering if renaming isn't the way to go and I thought your people would certainly know for sure.

See attachment,

First go to Windows File Explorer and change the highlighted setting to un-ticked.

Next, right click on the file you want to change and select rename.

The file name will be highlighted,

Click the cursor once on the highlighted section to deselect it and then once on bgl to select that instead.

Then rename it to off, you will see a warning.

Click on Yes and your file has been renamed.
