teisco
Tried to install Orbx updated libraries in FSXSE and the installer only will let me install in P3D2 or P3D3 and there is no selection for FSXSE. I checked the registry path for my FSX and it is good so not sure why Orbx does not see it. Also problem with Pago Pago install,,,says cannot calculate disc space or something like that and then it says cannot install in such and such folder. Both of these installed in P3Dv3 just fine but will not install in FSXSE.
Tim Harris
Hi teisco, 1 - Did you have the boxed version of FSX installed on this PC before FSX-SE? 2 - Have you moved the FSX folder, or altered/changed the registry settings for FSX / FSX-SE? 3 - how much free space is on your OS drive? Cheers!
teisco
Thanks for your reply, 1. No, just the FSX SE version 2. My Steam folder is on drive D rather than C (not understanding why the installer does not have a search for program selection like most installers) 3. 703 GB
Nick Cooper
If you only have FSX SE, then the file structure should be the same as FSX. If this is the case, make sure that the FSX section of the Registry Fix Tool points to where you have installed FSX SE. You can find it at C:\Users\Your name\AppData\Local\Orbx\FTXCentral\RegistryFixTool.exe Then run the installer for FSX.
teisco
Yes I tried that first and both local machine and current user point to drive D Wait, I tried a different registry fix tool...I will now try the Orbx one.
Nick Cooper
Just a reminder, when you run the installer, select the FSX option, not the FSX Steam Edition one.
teisco
Ok tried the Obx reg tool and still no luck.
Nick Cooper
Now you need to remove the entry for the Steam Edition and instead, set the same location for FSX ( at the top). Quote If this is the case, make sure that the FSX section of the Registry Fix Tool points to where you have installed FSX SE.
teisco
Ok removed all FSX SE from apdata, registry and documents and just used FSX for location in Orbx reg tool. Installer for libraries and installer for Pago Pago both found FSX so installed but still no Pago Pago in my FSX.
Nick Cooper
Did you have FSX-SE folders in appdata? If you did, you need to read and act on this topic Have you installed the latest libraries into FSX and even if you have, before you start FSX you must open FTC Central select Global and click on Apply Group. You should now have a start screen for FTX Central which should require you to choose one of your three simulators.
teisco
Thanks, Ok did that and now have Pago Pago but no buildings show up.
Nick Cooper
Go to your FSX\ORBX\FTX_AU\FTXAA_ORBXLIBS\Scenery folder where you will find ModuleInstaller.exe. Run it as an Administrator and select the same path to FSX Steam as you did with the registry editor. Then click on install. You should see a message when you start FSX asking you to accept the objectflow module. Click on Yes. You should then have buildings, assuming you have set all your FSX Display settings correctly. teisco
Thanks but module installer will not let me install in FSX and only has check box for P3D
Nick Cooper
The library installs the module installer. If you install to FSX, the check box reads FSX, if you install to P3D, it reads P3D. You need to be running the Module installer that is inside your FSX folder. Can you do another screenshot of your Registry Editor?
teisco
I did use the module installer in my FSX folder and the only checkbox is P3D,,,no checkbox for FSX.
Nick Cooper
Would you make a diagnostic report and post the reference number here, please?
teisco
Ok got it working. I deleted the Orbx folder in FSX and reinstalled libraries and Pago Pago and now all is fine.
