Ace-9 Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 Hello folks. I am not using DX10 preview, (never have). I am seeing black / sometimes green boxes that cover airports as I fly past, they last for about 2 seconds and the airport appears, also the lights on aircraft / airports also sometimes begin life as black boxes before the lights appear. Nick Cooper Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 This is a delay in the textures loading and is generally the result of the PC being asked to do more than it can. Any suggestions how I can optimise the cfg or settings please, my PC is fairly agile and I have used the recommended info with no joy and tried the recently purchased ORBX Go as well? Nick Cooper Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 To be honest, no. I no longer use any tweaks in the fsx.cfg file, except [GRAPHICS]HIGHMEMFIX=1 This seems to be the best way. I do see just the same as you occasionally. I don't think it is realistic to expect no tiny glitches and also not realistic to expect software that was written long before today's hardware was even envisaged to take full advantage of all the processing power that is now available. I agree with what you are saying, its good to know your thoughts, they are realistic and are something I had not considered until now. I will try just the Highmemfix tweak on a clean cfg.
