The problems I am facing are: (i) Disk Defragmenter wont run, (ii) System restore wont run, (iii) The freeware program malawarebytes program that I had installed previously wont open anymore, (iv) Windows explorer seems to have slowed down. Basically all the microsoft system tools for cleaning the hard drive wont open or run. I'm guessing whatever has gotten into my harddrive is blocking all of these programs. Maurice_King Posted June 9, 2009 Share Posted June 9, 2009 OK do a Trend Micro or Symantec House Call this is and outside scan that can't be stopped by most bugs. alternately run something like a2Free over your system preferable from a stand alone USB stick or even reboot from CD with Bart PE.
