Bermuda425
Hi henningv, as far as I know this looks as it should, because detail is reduced when you are far away from the scenery. Only when getting closer you'll see the whole detail. Greetings,

Holger Sandmann
Hi there, indeed, FSX automatically switches land and water detail beyond a certain distance to a hard-coded color palette. It's most obvious if you switch to slew mode, go into top-down display, and then zoom out as far as it goes; you'll see the cross-shaped inner structure that is displayed with full detail and beyond that the hard-coded basic textures. The only way to reduce the effect is to either increase the LOD_RADIUS value in the FSX.cfg file (it expands the size of the area displayed in detail, at a cost of fps and available memory) or reduce visibility in the weather settings so that the sharp boundary gets masked. Cheers, Holger
